My morning walks have resumed. I've never been angsty about my age before, but this year I'm really feeling it – the annoyance at those wrinkles that don't go even with a good night's sleep, worries about the bits that hurt for no apparent reason. I turn 45 tomorrow and am not happy about it. Perhaps it's because I work with a lot of people around 20 years younger than myself; I'm a bit of an outlier in games journalism. Anyway, I'm going to walk off those aches and pains, and hopefully a bit of my winter chub, and remind myself that the only alternative to ageing is death and that's definitely not on the cards. Got too many places to go and things I want to do.
The angst is making me appreciate all the brilliant 40-something and 50-something bloggers I follow all the more. Seeing all those ladies enjoying life, looking fabulous and giving 0 fucks really is uplifting. What I take away from all of them is that it's important to have fun. To be less serious about the little things. Live your best life.
What have you been up to? Living your best life, I hope!
