Aubergine velvet, with a sweetheart neckline and keyhole back. My favourite thing about it was the pockets. Pockets! In a ball dress! Perfect.

I have to say that I would happily wear almost any of the dresses shown in your photos, and am gutted I won't make it to the exhibition before it Claire Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12096219865285219046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211353948967221274.post-88442758458406131912013-08-09T12:56:50.845+01:002013-08-09T12:56:50.845+01:00My husband has always said that popular culture re...My husband has always said that popular culture rewrites fashion history. This looks like a lovely exhibition, I really like some Laura Ashley prints. I agree, releasing some as dressmaking fabric would be great.Kate-Emhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15664293299445754159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211353948967221274.post-66457635145780692162013-08-09T11:07:39.735+01:002013-08-09T11:07:39.735+01:00I always liked the earlier stuff, they have become...I always liked the earlier stuff, they have become as boring as everyone else nowadays. The nostalgic side of the late 60s/early 70s gets swept under a wave of glam rock and disco...Mimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01578612522819952936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7211353948967221274.post-9890735271566709042013-08-09T08:30:22.001+01:002013-08-09T08:30:22.001+01:00If you're ever in Bath, drop me a line - I wor...If you're ever in Bath, drop me a line - I work in the city. Some of the lighter ones were worn during the day, but I think it's fair t say that most of them were regarded as a bit too special for every day.
