Are you a winner?

You are if your name is SUNA! Congratulations, the random number generator picked your comment number out (there were 21, but one commentator left two, and Porcelina didn't want to be in the draw). Email your address to crinolinerobot AT yahoo DOT com, and I'll post your goodies out on Saturday, which is my next day for wrestling with the post office.

In general Mim news, I didn't make it to the steam fair as I was ill again. Headaches and nausea. Not sure what it was, but it seems to be departing along with the fair. BAH. It's Lacock at War this weekend, so I'm hoping I can persuade Mr Robot to drive us to that. I haven't made it to a single vintage-themed event this year so far, and it makes me feel quite sad - as nice as it is doing things alone, it's also lovely to be able to see people enjoying the same things too. (If you're in the Wiltshire/Bath area, click on the tab at the top of the page to see my vintage events listing for the region. There's all sorts going on.)

Well, here's something I enjoy: walking through the park in the mornings. Look at these lovely flowers! My garden doesn't look anything like as good as this, though I have at least been keeping on top of it this year so it isn't quite the appalling mess it was last year. Something to aspire to... I hope you're enjoying lovely warm weather and getting outdoors too, alone or to an event.

    1. It seems to have gone. I'm pretty healthy, apart from where viruses are concerned. They always take me down. I've had swine flu *twice*.

  2. Many happy congrats to Suna! Oh no, I'm very sorry that you were feeling poorly and not able to attend (goodness, do I know what that is like). I really hope that this week will be much kinder to you on the health front, dear Mim.

    Gentle hugs & healing wishes,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. It seems to be - whatever it was went along with the funfair, grrrr!

  3. Being ill in the summer is the worst-you can't even curl up under a mound of blankets and sleep. I'm glad you're feeling better.

Walking the same park each morning must be interesting as you can see the seasons changing, birds migrating, etc.

    1. I really do enjoy it. In the 'far' part of the park there are squirrels, and occasionally cats, and one regular group of dog walkers who all get together and their dogs race around having great fun. The bit in front of the Royal Crescent generally has tourists - either a few brave ones who've ventured out of their hotels very early, or bewildered ones who've just been turfed off a coach. It's fun seeing their expressions. I also get to walk back through the city to my office and see the shops opening up.

  4. Congratulations to Suna!
I know you were really looking forward to the steam fair, what rotten luck to be ill. I hope you feel lots better now and get to Lacock at War although typically the weather forecast isn't looking great at the moment.
Your local park is gorgeous, I wish my garden looked like that! xxx

    1. We're now on a severe weather warning for Saturday. It really isn't my year for events.

  5. Sorry to hear that you have been feeling ill and hope that you manage to get out this weekend. Maybe it is the heat/sun, not much fun for us redheads. :( The flowers in the park look lovely. I like the combination of those colours. It is a bit bright and tropical. It is hard doing up a house and keeping on top of the garden with limited time. Xx

    1. I think it was a virus. If there's one going, I'll get it. I don't know anyone else who's managed to get two different strains of swine flu. (Haven't had that this year, and it can jolly well stay away.) Still, the lurgy is gone now!

  7. Damn it, why does illness and general indisposition always strike at the wrong time?! Hope you manage to make it to Lacock and not get blown away/soaked/fried.

  8. I am so sorry to hear that you have missed-out the fair; but as I have mentioned before: caravan will come back. :)
    The park looks divine.
I can completely understand why you'd love walking there: the surroundings of such beauty bring peace of mind. Surely, your garden is NOT the worse (believe me, I write this after I came back from morning's visit to mine). :) We'll both get there, one day at a time - or maybe if someone like the crew from "love your garden" comes and does their magic (to tell the truth I'm not loving them lately: gardens have less plants and more decking - and it's all advertisement).
